Things have wrapped up from the 4th Annual Calvin Vollrath Fiddle Camp held July 18-22 in St. Edouard Alberta and a great time was had. We already look forward to next year.. July 17-21, 2011.
I had the great honor of being asked to compose 5 fiddle tunes for the Vancouver Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies, February 12, 2010 and also had the opportunity to perform them at the ceremonies. I sat on a chair, on the orchestra stage and proudly played my fiddle with all the other fiddlers down on the field. An experience that will not be soon forgotten. I hope you got to see Canadian Fiddling exposed to the world. You can click here and watch the Opening Ceremony, in full. The fiddle portion happens at about 1 hour, 42 minutes & 40 seconds. The Edmonton Journal has also written an article on this. Click here to read it.
